Universal Baptism Option 3
~Dedication to God~
Adapted from Psalm 36 3-10
This is a very nice option for an interfaith Christian /Jewish Ceremony

Officiant:
At the very dawn of creation, God used his spirit to breathe life into the waters, making them the wellspring of life. We will now use this gift of water to welcome this child into the world.

Officiant:
At the very dawn of creation, God used his spirit to breathe life into the waters, making them the wellspring of life. We will now use this gift of water to welcome this child into the world.
How precious is your constant love O God.
We take shelter under your wings
We fest in the abundance of your house.
You gave us to drink from your stream of delights.
With you is the fountain of life.
In your light we are bathed in light.
(Officiant gently pours water over child's head and says): We baptize you as a child of God, as a child of light and as a child of humanity
Let us rejoice in this gift of new life.
Blessed be God forever. For God has blessed and chosen this child as God's very own.
